50. Henry⁴ Busey (Edward³, Paul², Paul¹, Elizabeth^A ?) was born Md Aug 1747. He died 2 Feb 1836: in Jefferson Co, (W)Va, at 88 years of age.

He married twice. He married Ann Trumann 13 Oct 1778: in Frederick Evangelical Lutheran. The witnesses to this marriage were - Thomas Corner and wife Margrew; Samuel, Edward and Charles Bucy; Bariel and Sav. Fischer, William Chapmann; and Archib. Nichols.

Ann was born about 1752:. He married Ann Macattee 11 Aug 1792: in Frederick Co, Md. Ann was born 1760:. She died 13 Sep 1836: at 76 years of age.

Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census in Frederick Co, Md. Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census in in Montgomery Co, Md. Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census in Frederick Co, Md. In 1775, Henry was a corporal in Capt William Duvall's Company from the middle district of Frederick Co, MD. In the list of all free male inhabitants of Montgomery Co, MD, from the ages of 16 to 50, Henry Busey appears in the 5th Company of the list of Zadock Magruder dated 30 Aug 1777. In Feb 1778, Henry Busey took the Oath of Affirmation of Fidelity and Support in Montgomery Co, MD, on the same day as Charles, Paul, and Edward Busey.

In Sept 1798, Henry Busey bound out his son Washington to Abraham Unstattd, blacksmith. Henry acknowledged this by signature.

In 1800, Henry was enumerated with a family of 10 persons in Montgomery Co, MD. H. Busey was enumerated in Frederick Co, MD, in 1810 with a family of 6. In 1820, Henry is found in newly formed Morgan Co, (W)Va. It appears he was living with his son Edward in the 1830 census in Jefferson Co, (W)Va.

99 i. Washington G(eorge)⁵ Busey was born Md 9 Aug 1779. He died 12 Jun 1865: in Cumberland, Allegany Co, Md, at 85 years of age. He married three times. He married Elizabeth Read 4 Oct 1809: in Montgomery Co, Md. Elizabeth was born 9 Aug 1783:. She died 9 Dec 1830: at 47 years of age. He married Sarah Brown 16 Dec 1831: in Jefferson Co, (W)Va. Sarah was born 4 Aug 1794:. She died 23 Jul 1835: at 40 years of age. He married Elizabeth Allison Avis 30 Jun 1836: in Jefferson Co, (W)Va. Elizabeth was born about 1798: Md. On 8 Spt 1798, Washington was apprenticed by his father to a blacksmith until 9 Aug 1800 (when he would turn 21). In the 1800 census, Washington is found in Montgomery Co, MD. In 1820, he is in Berkeley Co, (W)Va. By 1830, Washington was in Harper's Ferry. He lived there until the Federal troops destroyed his home, whereupon he moved to Cumberland, MD, to live with his daughter. Washington served in the War of 1812.

100 ii. Benjamin Truman Busey was born Md 30 Jan 1781. He died 1839: in Jefferson Co, (W)Va, at 58 years of age. He married Mary Walper Rousch after 14 Aug 1817:. Mary was born about 1790:. She died 1873: at 83 years of age. Banjamin and his family were enumerated in Berkeley Co, (W)Va. in 1820. In Oct 1825, Benjamin was in Muskingum Co, Ohio, where he executed an assignment of his wife's inheritance from her father in Jefferson Co, (W)Va. In 1830, Benjamin's family was in Jefferson Co, (W)Va. with one slave (possibly Lucy who was bequeathed to Mary by her father).

101 iii. Priscilla Busey was born Md about 1790. She died after 1850:.

102 iv. Henry Busey was born Md about 1791. He died after 1850:. Henry was living near Hagerstown, Maryland, about 1840, according to Malachi Busey in 1877, who also said he had heard no tidings of Henry since before 1850. In the Federal census of 1850, Henry is found in District 2 of Washington Co., MD, occupied as a shoemaker.

103 v. Margaret Busey was born Md ca 1794. She died after 1850:. She married John C. Newman 13 Sep 1827: in Cumberland, Allegany Co, Md.⁽⁹¹⁾ Married in this town Thurs night last by Rev Sigler, John C. Newman, late of Hampshire Co, Va, to Miss Margaret Bucy, of this town. [Sept 15, 1827, Maryland Advocate] On 26 Mar 1834, John C. Newman of Jefferson Co, Va., entered into a deed of trust with Nicholas Koonce on a $60 debt to Joseph L. Russell and David Koonce. Security for the note included: "one clock, a number of books including my whole library, six chairs, one bedstead and bedding, one bureau, one looking glass", etc. John was a schoolteacher. Margaret Newman was living with Priscilla Busey in 1850 in Shepardstown, (W)Va.

104 vi. Malachi Busey was born about 1795. He died after Nov 1877:. In 1830, Malachi was living in Connelsville, Fayette Co, PA. In 1840, he was in Licking Co, Ohio. occupied in manufactures and trade. On 13 Nov 1877, he was living in Washington Co, PA.

105 vii. Ann Busey was born ca 1797. She married John Rhodes 13 Dec 1816: in Montgomery Co, Md.

106 viii. Edward Busey was born Md about 1799. He died 1874: in Muskingum Co, Oh, at 75 years of age. Edward was living in Jefferson Co, (W)Va in 1830. He purchased land in Muskingum Co, Ohio, on 21 Dec 1839, and was found on the 1850 and 1860 census in Harrison Twp, Muskingum Co. He was a grocery keeper in 1850 and a farmer in 1860.
